Apples are out there everywhere, just growing however they want.  They don't care about your idea of the perfect apple.

But they are willing to be tamed - and the Colonists start the great apple-ing of North America.
Like peaches, Native Americans make a whole bunch of orchards and move apples as well.

Later we will decide to regret and abandon many an apple venture.
