And reading hard to read texts. (Cannot wait for the 18th C and more widespread publishing - Yay Paper Books!)

Episode 11 - Mercantilism: Do you want Pirates? Because that's how you get Pirates.

Listen to "011 Mercantilism - Do You Want Pirates?" on Spreaker.  Link to the Episode: Episode 11 Mercantilism: Do You Want Pirates? Not gonna lie.  Reading about economics - especially the history of economics is kind of a slog.  History books written in 1939 still contain untranslated Latin (thank you Google Translate) - and like to spend quite a bit of time putting the bibliography in the text. On the other hand - getting books from the Library in 1939 was much more of a challenge, so putting more of the books you had read in the book you were writing to make your point made sense. Here's a picture of Sir Walter - Puffy Pants and All: "Raleigh's First Pipe in England", an illustration included in  Frederick William Fairholt 's  Tobacco, its history and associations This image is available from the  New York Public Library 's Digital Library under the digital ID 1107712:  digitalgallery.nypl.org  →  digitalcollections.nypl.org
